Hyderabad: CID Additional Director General T Krishna Prasad on Friday said that the term ‘warrant’ was missing in the Red Corner Notice (RCN) against Congress MP K V P Ramachandra Rao, which was sent by the CBI. As a result, it was faxed back to the Delhi CBI headquarters for clarification. The CID would act based on further instructions from the CBI, Prasad said. The CID chief said that he received the Red Corner Notice (RCN, A-2828/4-2014) sent by the CBI which was forwarded along with the US government request for the provisional arrest of the RS member in the Titanium case.

Generally, an RCN allows a warrant issued by a national authority to be circulated worldwide, with the request that the person wanted be arrested. Meanwhile, KVP has moved the AP High Court against the RCN and filed a writ petition asking for stay on his arrest. He said that he had no knowledge of the said case in a court in USA and was surprised that he has been allegedly been indicted without hearing him and this order was in sealed cover for nearly one year. He contended that the Criminal Procedure code of India guarantees certain fundamental rights and civil liberties and al this can not be short circuited in the name of a case in court in US. Earlier, the court turned down a lunch motion moved by him against the warrant issued by Interpol for his provisional arrest.
