Extortion on the road; gold, cash robbed

Kurnool: Few mysterious dacoits have created a terror in Kurnool district. They have shown their convulsive shades near Toll Plaza of Amakatadu. Early on Monday, few anonymous dacoits attacked a car with stones and sticks. They threatened the mother and son who were present in the car at the time of the incident, and robbed 120gm gold and Rs 25K which was possessed by the duo. This incident happened at around 3 a.m. early on Monday. A car which was on its way from Bangaluru was robbed near Amakatadu toll plaza. The dacoits have allegedly covered their faces with an intention of not getting recognised. They threatened the victims with knives and robbed.

The mother and son of late made a complaint with the police, bowing to the fear of the dacoits. The victims hail from Karnataka state. They were on their way to Kurnool for attending a function. No evidence could be found from the CCTV footage of the Toll Plaza as the incident happened away from the vicinity of CCTVs.

It is worth recollecting that a similar incident also happened in the recent past at the same spot when a resident of Karnataka was attacked to rob his credit/debit cards. The local people complain that there is no responsibility shown by the police even though many such incidents have been taking place in the surrounding areas.
