According to Kushaiguda police, the incident came to light on Saturday morning when D Sridhar, owner of Gowri Mobiles, opened his shop. The miscreants took away different models of handsets put on display, said Kushaiguda Sub-Inspector Anantha Ramulu. The owner said he had switched off the CCTV cameras before closing the shop on Friday night for fear of electric short circuit, the police officer added. The police registered a case on the basis of a complaint lodged by the shop owner.

The clues team and fingerprint experts were pressed into service to collect evidence from the scene of the offence. Two security guards on duty were picked up for questioning.
