Mother, daughter hacked to death

Vijayawada: Mallavalli village of Bapulapadu mandal in Krishna district woke up to a shocking and ghastly incident where, a mother and daughter were brutally hacked to death by a person who allegedly wanted an illicit relationship with one of the victims.

They were slashed at throats with a sickle and their heads were separated. According to sources, mother Aachi Chandramma (50) and her married daughter Pallapu Chinni (34) were living together after the latter’s husband died. Sivaiah, a banana hawker, wanted to have an illicit relationship with Chinni and has been stalking her for the past three months.

In this background, while both victims were sleeping in the veranda of their house on Wednesday night, Sivaiah who approached Chinni in drunken state in the wee hours, tried to molest her. She countered his attempt which led to a scuffle. On hearing the cries, Chandramma woke up and rushed to the rescue of her daughter.

Sivaiah, who brought a sickle along with him, struck Chinni first and then her mother. Both of them died on spot and later, Sivaiah had separated their heads from the bodies and fled the spot. The whole incident shook the residents of the village. Nuzuvid DSP Purnachandra Rao visited the spot and registered a case. Investigation is on and the department is in search of the accused.
