Woman succumbs to burn injuries, A 24-year-old woman, who immolated herself on June 18 at her residence in Dharma Reddy colony in Kukatpally, succumbed to burn injuries on Friday morning.
Hyderabad: A 24-year-old woman, who immolated herself on June 18 at her residence in Dharma Reddy colony in Kukatpally, succumbed to burn injuries on Friday morning. According to KPHB police, the deceased K Rajitha, wife of Kurmaiah, took the extreme step on June 18 due to alleged dowry harassment. She was immediately admitted to Gandhi Hospital for treatment where she died on Friday morning. Enquiries by the police revealed that the couple got married in 2009. Based on a complaint by the victim’s relatives, a case has been registered against Kurmaiah and his parents under Section 498 A and 306 of the IPC.
