Hyderabad: A 25-year-old girl from Uttar Pradesh who was staying in Erra Manzil allegedly committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling fan on Friday evening under Punjagutta police station limits The deceased, Ankita Singh, hailing from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, lived in a rented house at Reliance Estate at Hill Top Colony in Erra Manzil area, police said.
The incident came to light when despite repeated knocks elicited no response. Jessica, friend of Ankita, who lives next door finally, peeped through the window to find Ankita's hanging body from the ceiling. She immediately alerted the police who rushed to the spot and broke open the door. The body was shifted to Gandhi mortuary for postmortem. Parents of the victim were informed by the police. What led to her taking extreme step was not known.
