Hyderabad: South Zone police arrested a man who allegedly vandalised an idol at the Darwaza Mahankalamma Temple in Puranapul area under Hussaini Alam police limits in an inebriated condition late on Thursday night.
Police arrested Ketavath Peerya Nayak, 28, of Mahabubnagar district, for his involvement in vandalising the temple idol on Thursday night. During interrogation, he confessed to have broken open the lock of the temple and vandalised the place of worship, scattered all the 'puja' material and broke the Hawan Kund (sacrificial fire).
