In a fit of rage, a man murdered his own brother-in-law, accusing him of driving his sister to suicide, who hanged herself at her residence in Jaipuri Colony at Nagole on Wednesday morning. The police are on a manhunt for the accused, who is absconding.

According to the police, the accused identified as Munna alias Kalimuddin, 35, a welding worker, murdered his brother-in-law Babu Miya, 42 years, a labourer, after finding his sister, Saleema Begum, 38 years, hanging from ceiling in the morning. Enraged by this, Munna stabbed Babu Miya mercilessly and later slit his throat. Babu Miya, bleeding profusely, died on the spot, near his home later. “Both husband and wife used to quarrel regularly and had a marital discord. Vexed with the daily torture, she committed suicide,” said E Srinivas Reddy, Inspector, L B Nagar.
Family members of the deceased alleged that their daughter who got married to Babu Miya 15 years ago had regular differences over financial problems. They have three daughters.
The police registered a case under Sections 498–A (Dowry Harassment), 306 (Abetment for suicide) and 302 (Murder) of IPC.
