Hyderabad: A body of an unidentified woman was found in Padmavati Colony in Kushaiguda police station limits on Sunday morning.

According to police, the woman, who was aged between 20 and 22 years, was bludgeoned to death at the volleyball court opposite to Venkateshwara Swamy Temple of Padmavati Colony in Kushaiguda. The woman bore injuries all over and the police, who questioned the locals, came to conclusion that the murder might have taken place on Saturday night, after 10.30 pm.

“On that night, youngsters played volleyball in the court amidst focus lights till 10 pm. No woman was seen there during the match,” said N Venkata Ramana, Inspector, Kushaiguda.

She was wearing a blue colour Punjabi dress, with light green chudidar and dark green chunni. G Prem Kiran, an ECIL employee and resident of Kushaiguda, who first saw the body at 8 am, immediately informed the police. The police suspected that she could be a sex worker.

A case has been registered under Section 302 (Murder) of IPC and the body was shifted for post mortem to Gandhi Hospital. Further investigation is on.
