2 youths held for raping minor
Two youths were arrested by the PM Palem police on Monday on charges of raping a 17 year old girl. They were identified as 20-year-old P Kiran Kumar, a resident of Appughar area, and his friend Appalaraju (21) of Joddugullapalem on the beach road.

Both are auto-rickshaw drivers by profession. The police said both of them sexually assaulted the minor girl at the point of knife on Saturday night when she boarded auto-rickshaw to go to Sagarnagar where she lived. Circle inspector S Appala Raju said the girl was employed in a grocery store in MVP Colony. She boarded a share auto-rickshaw at Appughar at about 9pm on Saturday after her duty hours to go home.
There was a woman passenger who got down at Jodugullapalem and Appalaraju boarded the rickshaw. After a brief chat with Appalaraju, Kiran Kumar diverted the vehicle towards Visakha Valley School route and the duo raped her after dragging her into bushes. They also threatened the girl with dire consequences if she lodge a complaint with the police. The victim knew Kiran Kumar and hence she boarded the auto, the CI said.
