Hyderabad: Ever since the She teams were pressed into service by the Cyberabad police on December 24, 23 persons have so far been arrested. Out of them, 15 persons are above 18 years and eight are minors. DCP (Malkajgiri) R Rama Rajeshwari, who is heading the counselling team on women safety, said that the teams, besides concentrating on colleges, visited ladies’ hostels and working women’s hostels where they conducted awareness campaigns on eve-teasing.

“The teams’ future course of action is to conduct more number of awareness programmes for target groups in colleges for both men and women. We are also urging institutions and establishments to display boards at work places about ‘Dial 100’ and spreading awareness through the Facebook page of Cyberabad She teams and also we are planning to conduct seminars involving NGOs and government organisations,” the DCP said adding that every Saturday professional counselling was being organised by Crime Against Women (CAW) cell at CP office.

Advisories are being sent to RTC to sensitise drivers and conductors to enable them to help a woman when she reports about abuse in transit. Special drives are planned to keep a tab on autos plying on outskirts, which were used by a huge chunk of womenfolk to travel, she added.
