Women held for killing husband with help of paramour
In a bizarre incident, the Neredmet police arrested a woman for allegedly murdering her husband with her lover’s help, police said on Sunday.
Hyderabad: In a bizarre incident, the Neredmet police arrested a woman for allegedly murdering her husband with her lover’s help, police said on Sunday.
Yellamma alias Lakshmi, 29, along with Satyanaryana, 31, with whom she has an illicit relationship hatched a plan to kill her husband Pallapu Mahesh, 35, a resident of Vadderbasthi in Addagutta, inspector N Chandra Babu said. The investigation began after Mahesh’s body was recovered from Ammuguda Banda Cheruvu in Neredmet on January 11 with head injuries.
The police grilled Yellamma after her husband’s relatives approached them as they had not heard from him for a couple of days. Yellamma broke down during the interrogation and confessed to her crime, the inspector said.
“Mahesh, an auto driver who was a habitual drunkard often picked up quarrels with his wife over family issues and beat her. Vexed with his behaviour of continuous harassing, she, along with Satyanarayana (brother-in-law) conspired to eliminate Mahesh. As per Yellamma’s instruction, Satyanarayana took Mahesh to Ammuguda Banda Cheruvu in Neredmet area on January 10 and made him consume alcohol up to sedation and took him to a secluded place and killed him by bludgeoning his head with a boulder,” the inspector said.
A case of murder has been registered under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC against Yellamma and Satyanarayana and remanded them to judicial custody.
