Tandur (Ranga Reddy): A man, Buggappa of Yeranpalli village, was hacked to death by six persons with hunting knives in the presence of a police constable near Juntupalli in Yalal mandal on Thursday. Old rivalry was said to be the motive. Buggappa and Ramulu Goud, who belong to Yeranpalli village in Mahabubnagar district, are having old rivalry between them. The police filed criminal cases against Buggappa in the past based on the complaints lodged by Ramulu.

On Thursday, Buggappa threatened Ramulu Goud’s son that he would kill him. Ramulu lodged a complaint with Kodangal police stating that Buggappa has threatened his son. Constable Harilal came to Yeranpalli to conduct an enquiry. The villagers informed Harilal that Buggappa left for Thimmaipalle in Yalal mandal along with his family to attend a dinner.

Harilal went to Thimmaipalle to bring back Buggappa to Yeranpalli. Ramulu and five others waylaid and attacked Buggappa at Juntupalli while he was coming back to Yeranpalli along with Harilal on a bike. The constable tried to stop Ramulu and his men but they pushed him away and killed Buggappa.
