Film producer Kalyan surrenders
Tollywood film producer C Kalyan surrendered himself at the Jubilee Hills police station here on Wednesday. On April 29, a lady doctor named Kavitha filed a complaint against Kalyan for allegedly threatening and manhandling her over their apartment\'s financial dispute. Based on it, a case has been booked under Sections 354, 509 and 506 of the IPC at Jubilee Hills police station.
Hyderabad: Tollywood film producer C Kalyan surrendered himself at the Jubilee Hills police station here on Wednesday. On April 29, a lady doctor named Kavitha filed a complaint against Kalyan for allegedly threatening and manhandling her over their apartment's financial dispute. Based on it, a case has been booked under Sections 354, 509 and 506 of the IPC at Jubilee Hills police station.
Adhering to the notice issued by the cops under the section 41, the producer surrendered before police and he is expected to be granted bail. Police also recorded Kalyan's statement before arresting him. It may be recalled that Kalyan has been facing charges for threatening and manhandling the female doctor in a dispute regarding the compensation amount of Rs 1.04 crore to be given by the GHMC as a part of their apartment demolition compensation for the Metro Rail project. The case was filed against producer after the lady doctor alleged that the film producer tried to manipulate the GHMC authorities and also pressurised her to sell off her flat to him.
