Hyderabad: Detention orders have been issued against four notorious criminals for indulging in human trafficking, chain snatchings, land grabbing, rape, murder and illegal finance business here on Thursday, under Telangana Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Dacoits, Drug-Offenders, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders and Land-Grabbers Act, 1986 (Act 1 of 1986), CP Cyberabad CV Anand said.


The detention orders have been served on M Jagadeesh alias Jaggu, 28 of Saroornagar, Mahender Singh Chowda, 28, of Suraram Colony, Asgar Ali, 21, of Dabeerpura and Khadar Barakba, 25, of Balapur who have been allegedly involved in gruesome offences in different police stations limits in Cyberabad.“Jagadeesh is a member of Siva gang which committed as many as 803 chain-snatching cases during the period 2012-2014.


He was personally involved in at least 126 criminal cases. Similarly, Mahender Singh and Asgar Ali, both chain snatchers were involved in as many as 36 and 18 cases, respectively. Khadar, a member of the Snake Gang, is accused of five criminal cases, under Pahadishareef police station limits,” the CP said.


The CP further added that the cases registered against them have not shown any deterrent effect on them so far. They continued to indulge in similar offences in public places, which are detrimental to public order and therefore their activities are required to be prevented by a detention order.
