Selfie taking techie sustains serious burns, battling for life
An engineering student sustained severe burns while taking a selfie from atop a stationery train engine here on Tuesday. He came in to contact with a high tension over head electric line in Rajahmundry East station side.The student Kanumuri Santhosh, who is studying B Tech in Gitam College, Visakhapatnam, sustained severe burns and is stated to be in a critical condition.

According to relatives, Santhosh and his friends came to Rajahmundry by Simhadri Express on Tuesday morning to attend a friend’s marriage. He called his relative who is residing in Rajahmundry and informed that he would come along with his friends in the evening after attending the marriage.
Meanwhile, all the friends went to railway station side and walked up to the loco shed, where they had a bet on taking selfie by standing on a goods engine. Santhosh climbed the engine first and in the process of standing and clicking a selfie from his mobile he came in contact with the high tension over head line and cried for help.
His friends rushed to Government Railway Police (GRP) who called 108 and shifted him to a government hospital.Later, Santhosh was moved to a private hospital by his relatives. They said that the doctors informed them that his condition is critical and he is in a coma presently.
