Woman murdered, husband injured
woman was stabbed to death and her husband suffered injuries at Putlibowli under Sultan Bazaar police limits here on Tuesday. According to police, the accused, identified as Lakhan, attacked the woman, Sonu Bai (35), while she was doing her home chores. She died on the spot.

When her husband Anand Das (42), a priest in Lakshminarayana temple, came to her rescue, the assailant had attacked him and injured hi, Inspector of Police P Shiv Shankar Rao said. The police took Lakhan into custody for interrogation. Lakhan is said to be related to Sonu Bai.
Police said the investigation had revealed that Sonu Bail allegedly engineered the murder of her cousin Tuljaram 2009 and later her brother Narsingh Dass in Nanded district in Maharashtra. The attack on her was believed to be a revenge act on the part of Lakhan.
