Hyderabad: The LB Nagar police, who formed five special teams to trace Amit Singh, wanted for killing Sangireddy Sri Lekha, 21, and her elder sister Sangireddy Yamini, 22, at their Commercial Tax Colony in Chaitanyapuri on July 14, managed to zero in on his hideout on Friday.

“We able to track him down at his hiding place. It is not the right time to divulge details till we zero in on his exact hiding place,” DCP (LB Nagar) Tafseer Iqubal said. When asked whether cops traced his hideout in the city or outside, the DCP was noncommittal and said that he would be arrested soon.

“Our teams are on the track,” the DCP added. Amit had been stalking Sri Lekha for the past couple of years when they were studying Intermediate together. Unable to bear the torture, she informed her parents, who complained to the police. On Tuesday, he barged into the house where the two sisters stayed and stabbed both of them repeatedly to death.
