Hyderabad: The police on Wednesday claimed to have busted a five-member gang involved in burglaries. Sevan motor bikes, six mobile phones, a gold chain, weighing 10 tolas, two knives, an air gun and Rs 13,000 cash were seized from the possession of the arrested, the police said.


The accused were Md Ahmed (27) of Bahadurpura, Md Afroz Khan (22) of Mailardevpally, Md Sami (20) of Bahadurpura, Md Khadeer Qureshi (19) of Kalapathar and a juvenile, the police said. They used to move around in colonies, conduct recce during daytime and commit offences like chain snatching, burglaries and vehicle lifting, detective inspector B Prakash said.


“The gang members committed as many as 12 offences under Rajendra Nagar, Narsingi, Shamshabad, Hayathnagar, Ibrahimpatnam and Banjara Hills police station limits. All the gang members were arrested for similar offences in the past by the police,” said the police. After release, they started committing similar offences, they added. The accused were produced before the court for judicial remand.
