The Bowenpally police cracked the kidnap case and arrested a person rescuing a 12-year old boy within couple of days. The boy had asked for a lift from accused during the afternoon at Air Force Station in Begumpet on Saturday. According to police, P Shyamsunder (22), resident of Kukatpally and a native of Nizamabad picked up the minor boy Vamshi Krishna after he was returning from Kendriya Vidyalaya in Begumpet.

Hyderabad: The Bowenpally police cracked the kidnap case and arrested a person rescuing a 12-year old boy within couple of days. The boy had asked for a lift from accused during the afternoon at Air Force Station in Begumpet on Saturday. According to police, P Shyamsunder (22), resident of Kukatpally and a native of Nizamabad picked up the minor boy Vamshi Krishna after he was returning from Kendriya Vidyalaya in Begumpet.


The accused was on his way to Jagadish Market but changed his mind and planned to kidnap the boy for extracting money from his parents. He lured the victim in one or the other pretext and kept him in a room at Borabanda. The mother of missing child, N Rajitha (35), a resident of Old Bowenpally filed a missing case and police started the probe.


The kidnapper called the parents and demanded for Rs 50,000 ransom and threatened to kill the boy. The Bowenpally police laid a trap at Bapujinagar and nabbed the accused and rescued the child successfully. The case was investigated by SI N Suresh with the assistance of Sub Inspector B Srinivas, under the supervision of Inspector K Kiran.
