Koti who tried self-immolation for Special Status cause dies

A 40-year-old Congress worker, who attempted self-immolation at a Congress meeting in Tirupati, died of burns on Sunday. On Saturday, B. Koti set himself ablaze in the public meeting near the Municipal Corporation Office demanding special status for the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Alarmed Congress activists doused the fire and taken him to a near by hospital. He suffered 70 per cent burns. Later, he was shifted to a hospital in Chennai. Koti succumbed to burn injuries today while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
