Cops bust fake job racket
The Nalgonda police busted a fake job racket and arrested an eight-member gang including Syed Mohammed who is a retired RTC employee and National Mazdoor Union (NMU) general secretary. They were cheating unemployed youth in the name of providing jobs in TSRTC.
Nalgonda: The Nalgonda police busted a fake job racket and arrested an eight-member gang including Syed Mohammed who is a retired RTC employee and National Mazdoor Union (NMU) general secretary. They were cheating unemployed youth in the name of providing jobs in TSRTC.
The arrested were Syed Mohammed (63), a retired RTC employee and NMU state general secretary(Hyderabad), Nalajala Kondal, a realtor and native of Kodad town, P Venkateshwarlu, businessman and native of Rangapuram village of Nalgonda district, K Shivaiah, private employee and resident of Chilukuru village, K Ramesh, resident of Akupamula village of Munagala mandal, Ch Shekar Reddy, resident of Suryapet, M Gopal, a government school teacher and resident of Buddaram village of Mahbubnagar district and D Naga, correspondent of a private school in Nizamabad district.
The Superintendent of Police Vikram Jeet Duggal on Wednesday produced the arrested before the media in Nalgonda. Speaking to the media, Vikram Jeet Duggal said that Syed Mohammed and gang cheated nearly 80 unemployed persons including 45 from Nalgonda district in the State by assuring that they would manage to provide jobs to them in the union quota.
The gang members collected a total of Rs 2.5 crore from these job aspirants. They lured the unemployed in the name of conductor, driver and traffic supervisor jobs in State-run transport corporation TSRTC and collected Rs 3-5 lakh from each candidate, he added. The SP said that 12 cases have been registered on the gang members at different police stations in the district. The police had seized Rs 16.5 lakh and two cars from their possession. Additional S P Gangadhar and Suryapet DSP Rasheed were present.
