Vehicle thief arrested

A car driver from Gudivada living in Raidurgam was arrested by the West Zone Task Force police on charges of burglaries and vehicle lifting offenses. Vehicles and gold ornaments worth about Rs 20 lakh have been recovered, the police said.
​Hyderabad: A car driver from Gudivada living in Raidurgam was arrested by the West Zone Task Force police on charges of burglaries and vehicle lifting offenses. Vehicles and gold ornaments worth about Rs 20 lakh have been recovered, the police said.
Galanki Ram Babu alias Gali Ram Babu (30), hailing from Krishna district was a habitual offender. He was earlier arrested by the city police in eight cases of burglary and was facing trial. After releasing on bail, he continued to commit similar offences, Task Force DCP B Limba Reddy said in a press conference at his office on Saturday.
“Two cars, about 70 tolas gold and some saris have been recovered from his possession. He is being sent to judicial remand,” said DCP Reddy.
