Man slits wife’s throat, ends life.
A migrant labourer from Warangal slit his wife’s throat while she was sleeping, before ending his life by slashing his jugular on Saturday night.
Hyderabad: A migrant labourer from Warangal slit his wife’s throat while she was sleeping, before ending his life by slashing his jugular on Saturday night.
The incident was reported at Kundanavalli in Keesara police station limits during late on Saturday. M Mahesh (31) along with his wife Rajitha (26) and two kids came to Hyderabad from Ramavaram village of Warangal district.
On Saturday, the labourer couple went home after their daily work. After dinner, they both had a quarrel over some petty issue after which, enraged Mahesh slit Rajitha’s throat with a knife while she was sleeping.
Their elder son Somesh, who heard his mother screaming in pain attempted to open the door of his room, but Mahesh asked him not to make noise, said Keesara inspector P Guruva Reddy.
The inspector said panicked Somesh called his paternal grandparents from his father’s phone and told them about the incident. They reached Mahesh’s home at around 4 am, but by then, Rajitha was dead and Mahesh was battling for his life.
Mahesh was taken to Gandhi hospital where he succumbed while undergoing treatment. A case was booked into the matter and investigation is on, the inspector said.
