Amaravati: Police busted a notorious attention diversion gang in Amaravati on Thursday. They used Fingerprint Identification Network System (FINS), an android app built for CID and developed for the use of the State police, in identifying the suspects.G Ramanjaneyulu, Additional SP of Guntur, said, “On August 16, we received a complaint from a pilgrim stating that he lost his bag near a ghat.

So, we increased the vigil and the team at the ghats found one Kunchala Pakeer roaming under suspicious circumstances. Though the suspect claimed innocence, police checked his finger prints with the help of FINS and identified him as a member of notorious attention diversion gang. After inquiry, we also arrested his gang members Lokesh, Kumari and Srinu, natives of Chittoor district.”

The Additional SP and DSP Madhusudana Rao handed over the reward to ASI Sai Kumar, head constable Guravaiah and constable Anjaneyulu for arresting the gang members. He asked the public to be vigilant about their belongings and children in the Pushkaralu and advised them not to not leave their wards alone.
