Fake red sanders seized

Eluru: Task force officials of the Forest department seized Rs1.50 lakh worth fake red sanders wood at Chintalapudi bypass Road on Thursday. They also seized three vehicles and took three persons into custody.

Acting on information from Flying Squad DFO M Guruprabhakar of Rajamahendravaram, Task Force Deputy Range Officer SVK Kumar and other forest personnel during checking operations at Chintalapudi bypass road found fake red sanders loaded in three vehicles.

The officials said the smugglers had painted it as red sanders wood and were transporting it from Asupaka in Aswaraopet Mandal of Khammam District to Amalapuram in East Godavari district. The seized property has been shifted to the Eluru Forest office.
