1,164 gamblers arrested in district
Police arrested 1164 gamblers within the Armoor and Bodhan divisions of the Nizamabad Commissionarate and booked 350 cases against them. They also seized an amount of Rs 21,28, 019 from them.

In a press release here on Monday, the Commissioner of Police Karthekeya said that 254 cases were booked against 638 persons in the Nizamabad division and an amount of Rs 13,77,390 was recovered from them. In the Armoor division, a total of 52 cases were booked against 277 persons and recovered Rs 4,04, 120 from them.
Commissioner Karthikeya said that 44 cases were booked against 249 people and recovered Rs 3,46, 509 from them. He said that in all the three divisions, the highest number of cases were booked in the Three-Town Police Station as gambling cases were booked against 114 people. An amount of Rs 2, 56, 510 was recovered from them, he added.
The Commissioner of Police said that the special team that was set up in the town booked 9 cases against 67 people and seized Rs 3,80,860 from them. He said that special surveillance teams were set up in the district to prevent gambling on Diwali Day.
