Rachakonda police on Wednesday arrested three persons near B N Reddy Nagar who were trying to sell stolen panchaloha idols.
​Hyderabad: Rachakonda police on Wednesday arrested three persons near B N Reddy Nagar who were trying to sell stolen panchaloha idols.
The arrested have been identified as I Shiva Ram, M Nagaraju and R Shiva Kumar, all three native of Nagarkurnool district. Police recovered two idols of Lord Lakshmi Narasimha and Lakshmi Devi from their possession.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, L B Nagar, Tafseer Iqubal said the trio stole the idols made of panchaloha from a temple near Dindi in Nalgonda district recently and came to Hyderabad to sell them.
“Our teams got a tip off and nabbed the thieves while they were waiting at B N Reddy Nagar to meet the prospective buyer. The idols are worth around Rs 10 lakh in the open market,” the DCP said.
