Ex-Singareni worker hangs self
A retired Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) worker, who was honoured by the SCCL as the best worker, allegedly committed suicide by hanging at his house here on Monday.
He reportedly took the extreme step as his financial benefits, to the tune of 10 lakh, were not settled by the SCCL management even after making several rounds to the central office
Kothagudem: A retired Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) worker, who was honoured by the SCCL as the best worker, allegedly committed suicide by hanging at his house here on Monday.
He was identified as Lingaiah, who retired from service two years ago. He reportedly took the extreme step as his financial benefits to the tune of Rs 10 lakh was not settled by the SCCL management even after making several rounds to the central office.
The management stopped payment of benefits for Lingaiah’s fault of erecting a tin-roofed shed besides his official quarter, which he had vacated long back.
Steeped in financial problems and unable to perform marriage of his daughter as his financial benefits were held up with the company, a peeved Lingaiah committed suicide.
