Burglars loot gold, injure couple

Unidentified assailants barged into a house on Ashok Road in the town and looted a couple five tolas of gold jewellery worth Rs 1.80 lakh. The culprits injured the couple.
Mancherial: Unidentified assailants barged into a house on Ashok Road in the town and looted a couple five tolas of gold jewellery worth Rs 1.80 lakh. The culprits injured the couple.
The police said the victims were identified as Raji Reddy, a retired Singareni Collieries Company Limited worker and his wife Rajeswari.
Locals came to the rescue of the couple after they raised alarm and sensing danger the assailants took to heels.
The locals rushed the injured to the government hospital where the doctors declared them out of danger. They are undergoing treatment.
Circe Inspector Sudhakar visited the crime scene and enquired the couple about the incident. A case was registered.
