4 held for selling liquor on I-Day
Four persons were arrested by Excise officials for violating orders on observance of ‘dry day’ on the occasion of 71st Independence Day on Tuesday. Huge quantities of liquor were seized from them.
Hyderabad: Four persons were arrested by Excise officials for violating orders on observance of ‘dry day’ on the occasion of 71st Independence Day on Tuesday. Huge quantities of liquor were seized from them.
The Excise and Enforcement teams conducted raids to ensure that the ‘dry day’ was observed strictly throughout the city. Given the fact that wine shops and bars were closed on the occasion of Independence Day, the officials conducted raids in suspected areas including Machlipura, Jinsichowrahi, Takkarwadi, Bhoiguda Kaman, Yellaredduguda, Ameerpet, Malakpet and Charminar.
During the raids, they arrested Shailender Singh (30), Vijesh Singh aka Lakhan Singh (32), Neelesh Kumar (39) and M Madhubabu (36). The Excise officials seized 513 whisky bottles of 180 ml each, 10 whisky bottles of 1 litre each, 36 bottles of 90 ml of whisky, 335 bottles of beer of each 650 ml, 15 bottles of beer of each 330 ml and one two-wheeler.
