Tandur: A 50-year-old woman was killed on the spot and eight others sustained serious injuries when a three-wheeler hit a car near a private school in the town on Thursday.
The autorickshaw was overloaded with nearly 16 passengers at the time of the accident. Whenthe three-wheeler was on its way to Indur village in Peddemulmandal, the mishap occurred after the autorickshaw tried to overtake the car.
The deceased was identified as JangamMadhamma (50). Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramachandrudu and Circle Inspectors Saidi Reddy and Pratapa Lingam took steps to send the injured to the Osmania Hospital in Hyderabad. The drivers of both the vehicles are absconding.
