Man dies after falling into Hussainsagar

Hyderabad: An unidentified person accidentally fell into the Hussainsagar lake while the Ganesh idol immersion process was going on Tuesday evening. The Ramgopalpet police booked a case of suspicious death.

According to the Hussain Sagar Lake police, the unidentified man was suspected to be a ragpicker and was wandering naked at People’s Plaza on Necklace Road on Tuesday. He moved towards the lake from backside of the People’s Plaza and fell into the waters.

The National Disaster Response Force team which received information from the police rushed to rescue him. But he was dead by then. The body was sent to Gandhi hospital for postmortem, said the police adding that the deceased is yet to be identified.
