Thief held, cops recover loot
The One-Town police arrested a thief and recovered gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 27 lakh on Thursday.
Eluru: The One-Town police arrested a thief and recovered gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 27 lakh on Thursday.
One-Town Circle Inspector, Adapa Naga Murali told media on Thursday that as per the directions from the SP, M Ravi Prakash and Eluru DSP K Eswara Rao, the police started monitoring the movements of the criminals.
As part of the monitoring, they started checks in one-town clock tower area this morning. “A suspected person was wandering around the bullion market area at the clock-tower centre. The SI, A Ramakoteswara Rao and his personnel took him into custody,” he said
Upon interrogation, he confessed to the crimes that he committed in Eluru one-town area and rural police station jurisdiction.
The police recovered 118.12 grams of gold ornaments, 67 grams of the silver articles, one DVD player and a cell phone from his confession. “The accused, Isukaleti Moses was a car driver and was a resident of Vangayagudem area in Eluru,” CI added.
