Satyadeva kalyanam performed

Rajahmundry : The celestial marriage of the presiding deities of Satyanarayana Swamy and Ananta Lakshmi on Ratnagiri Hills at Annavaram in East Godavari district was celebrated with traditional pomp and piety on Tuesday night. The marriage rituals started early in the morning with the celestial couple were taken in a procession on silver Garuda Vahanam while the temple priests recited Vedic hymns and went though the traditional pre-marriage rituals.

The Idols were taken a procession through the roads of the village and brought to the venue of the marriage on the Ratnagiri Hills. Minister for Endowments C Ramachandraiah and Minister for Stamps and Registrations Thota Narasimham presented the traditional Pattu Vastrams and Muthyala Thalambralu. Kanumuri Bapiraju brought 'silk vastrams' on behalf of TTD.

The marriage was conducted in the night by the temple priests under the guidance of chief priest Kondaveeti Satyanarayana. The temple authorities arranged to distribute prasadam and thalambralu to the devotees in an orderly way. Prathipadu MLA Parvatha Chittibabu, Tuni MLA Ashok Babu, district collector Nithu Kumari Singh, SP Shiv Shankar Reddy and others participated in the celebrations.
