Faculty members of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, SRKR Engineering College, felicitated HOD K Brahma Raju at Bhimavaram on Tuesday on his return from Russia after completing a 10-day study tour. Brahma Raju along with a team of National Design and Research Forum (NDRF), Bengaluru, toured Russia from February 21. The NDRF team, comprising 15 members from different disciplines, visited Russia on an invitation from the Moscow Innovation Development Centre (MIDC).
Narrating his tour experiences, Brahma Raju said that the NDRF team held discussions with representatives of Peoples’ Friendship University, Moscow State University and St Petersburg State University on mutual cooperation in research and development projects and student exchange programmes. “Russia is giving top priority to technological research.
The cost of pursuing higher education in Russia is relatively low compared to that of Western countries. But the main obstacle is language. There are English and other language study centres in Russia to overcome the problem. It is advisable for Indian students who want to pursue higher education abroad to consider the option of Russia for their studies,” he said. Faculty members K Satyanarayana, DSN Raju, V Durga Prasad and others were present.
