Institute of Management Technology, Hyderabad organized a two-day Annual Management Fest- IMPELZ’15 concluded on December 6. IMT Hyderabad aims to develop its students into responsible, innovative leaders with a global mindset and holistic perspective.
Hyderabad: Institute of Management Technology, Hyderabad organized a two-day Annual Management Fest- IMPELZ’15 concluded on December 6. IMT Hyderabad aims to develop its students into responsible, innovative leaders with a global mindset and holistic perspective. All the 11 clubs of the institute, each for a different domain, such as Finance, HR, Marketing, Operations, Strategy, Cultural, Social, Sports, Entrepreneurship and Communications collaborated to host one management fest where the participants were given opportunities to test their skills against the smartest brains from all over the country in every possible dimension.
The fest on Sunday started with Miser to Wiser, an event conducted by Athena-The Strategy Club of IMT Hyderabad. The event focused on making the participants go through an analytical approach at every stage of business and ensure that they work as a team and not in silos. The event was judged by Mr. Chirantan Chatterjee. The winners were Gurunanak Business School and IMT Hyderabad who shared the prize money.
The second event of the day was AdTract, organized by Mercatus Mantra -the Marketing Club of IMT Hyderabad. The participants had to design a 360 degree IMC Plan (Integrated Marketing Communication) on the case study given and judged by industry experts. The first round of the event was i-pill and MBH masala and the second round involved solving a live business problem through an interesting case. Mr. Tarun Mor & Ms. Ekta Mor, founder at LearnMor were the judges for the event. The winners of the event were IIM Kozhikode and the runners-up were MICA Ahmedabad.
Opuskriya- the Operations Club of IMT conducted ‘Synthesis’- The Case Study Competition in which the participants from various B-schools faced real time business situations and cases of a renowned company which requires them to think like mavens and give innovative and effective solutions. Dr. Sourabh Bhattacharya, Area Chairperson-Operations and Prof. Kalyan.C.Chejarla, Chairperson-Corporate Relations at IMT Hyderabad constituted the panel of judges. The winners and runners-up were from IMT Hyderabad.
I’m HR- the Human Resource Management Club of IMT presented ‘L.E.A.D HR’ wherein each team was tested on their skills as an HR manager. The first round of the event tested the teams on their domain knowledge and the second gave them a chance to use their skills as a training and development head. The event was judged by Mr. Ram Mohan, Director, L&D and Dr. Romina Mathew, Area Chairperson-HRM at IMT Hyderabad.
In addition to the above mentioned events, each club also organized minor and buzz events such as quiz shows, simulation games etc. where participants won exciting prizes.
The Management Fest ended with the closing ceremony, which took place in the college’s amphitheatre where all the participating teams and the organizers of the fest were awarded with certificates and prizes. This was followed by the much awaited DJ Night by popular artist DJ Piyush. A huge crowd gathered to become the part of an enthralling night, which marked the end of IMPELZ’15, a remarkable and successful management fest.
First day events at Impelz’15
The fest was declared open on 5th December by the chief guest, Mr. Suresh Rayudu Chitturi, Vice Chairman and Director of Srinivasa Hatcheries Group and Dr. Satish Ailawadi, Director of IMT Hyderabad. Various events were conducted during the day which was followed by the LOL Evening, a live performance by popular stand-up comedian Biswa Kalyan Rath at the IMT Hyderabad campus. The slap-stick jokes by Biswa left the audience in fits of laughter and glee. Patsav-School of Sound was the official entertainment partner of IMPELZ which further enlivened the event.
The LOL evening was followed by captivating Fashion Show- Amaya, organized by Antragna, the Cultural Club of IMT Hyderabad. ITM Khargar, IBS Hyderabad and IMT Hyderabad participated in the fashion show. All the teams set the stage on fire with their gorgeous outfits, confident attitude and alluring themes. The winners of the event were ITM Kharghar who impressed the judges with their scary yet attractive theme. IMT Hyderabad and IBS Hyderabad were the first and second runners-up respectively. The event was judged by Ms. Deborah Dorris Fell, a professional model and Mr. Bablu Perugu, a Bangalore based professional model.
Fashion show
The fashion show was followed by the dance competition-Mudra conducted by Antragna, the Cultural Club of IMT Hyderabad. The judge for the event was Mr. Pratik Sharma trained under Master Terrence Lewis currently a trainer at Bare Sole Dance Academy. The winners of the event were IBS Hyderabad who were given a tough competition by IMT Hyderabad’s home team.
