Hyderabad: With an aim to make learning more fun and interactive, Cambridge University Press (CUP) introduced effective learner-centric digital solutions viz. Communication 360° and Cambridge HOTmaths at an event in Hyderabad. Teachers from various schools attended the orientation programme where they were briefed on how these digital solutions can be incorporated in classroom learning.
The programmes come with a progress tracker, to track the performance of the students. Communication 360° offers interactive games for fulfilled practice and speech recording engine for ample and focussed pronunciation practice. The programme engages the students in a real-world environment wherein they are allowed to interact within relevant contexts, encouraged to make connections and build confidence to communicate effectively.
Manish Doshi, Vice President (Sales-Education), Cambridge University Press said: “Writing and reading are given more importance, but most of the competitive exams include listening and speaking too.Communication 360° is an innovative solution to enhance listening and speaking skills. Students will be able to communicate effectively and confidently, so this programme will help students improve their pronunciation and usage of English in everyday life,” He informed that these digital solutions can make learning more interesting for children.
“These programmes have been designed according to the syllabus that we follow in India, the pattern is similar but it’s in a digital format. Not just for private schools, but these solutions can also create an interest of learning if introduced in government schools. It is a package of edutainment for children, which will ignite curiosity and keep the students engaged,” said the VP.
The other digital solution, Cambridge HOTmaths programme is designed to encourage independent learning for those students who dread the subject. Mark O’Neil, Executive Director, Cambridge University Press, Australia, who unveiled the digital solutions, said that HOTmaths helps children at different levels of learning achieve successful outcomes.
“Problem solving can be enjoyed only if the child loves the subject, concepts should be developed well that’s the core. HOTmaths offers creative teaching ideas and charts students’ progress with daily assessments,” he added. Mark, who is also the CEO of HOTmaths Pty Ltd. said that the programme focuses on bridging the gap between the level of learners in the class.
“Every child has different levels of learning, some are gifted with great problem solving skills, HOTmaths programme can challenge the learner as per their level. You can move to different levels based on the student’s performance. It helps identify areas of improvement too,” said Mark adding that the organisation aims to make learning mathematics more engaging and interactive for students.
