Six perks that make working at Facebook a unique experience
Apart from having a boss that is none other than Mark Zuckerberg and working for a company that no one in the world can do without, you also get some pretty sweet perks.
When it comes to dream jobs, wanting to be a Facebook employee falls in almost everyone's wishlist.
Apart from having a boss that is none other than Mark Zuckerberg and working for a company that no one in the world can do without, you also get some pretty sweet perks.
Business Insider happened to take a look inside the social networking giant's spanking new office in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex and couldn't help but be bowled away. The company's Mumbai office is their second in India, the first being at Hyderabad.
But that also got us thinking- What are some of the things Facebook employees love about their organisation?
We decided to find out and let the employees have a go. And, here are the six perks that make working at Facebook a unique experience-
1. Unlimited food: All Facebook offices around the word, especially their headquarters in Menlo Park have a reputation for being fully stocked up on any and every kind of food that you might be craving at any point of time and this office is obviously no different.
Right from meals being prepared by chefs to having fully stocked tables with fruits, water bottles, muffins and junk food, Facebook wins the employees vote by being so food-friendly.
Facebook Mumbai's cafe will not only serve local Indian dishes but also lots of healthy items.
2. Stand- up desks: As part of their overall open plan in their Facebook offices, their Mumbai office is also designed the very same way- which means that everyone works out in the open.
There are no cabins, except for the meeting rooms and the interiors also include a lot of standing desks, which according to the company and the employees boost creativity and productivity.
3. Brilliant peers: The opportunity to work with some of the most brilliant, hardworking and passionate individuals is a definite bonus when it comes to being a Facebook employee.
4. A rather generous parental policy: If you’re a working mom or a dad, Facebook ensure that the company is the perfect place for you.
As of the moment, new mothers in the country are entitled to 12 weeks of maternity leave.
Additionally in November last year, Zuckerberg also announced that Facebook’s policy of offering four months paid leave to new parents will be applicable to all employees globally, rather than only new parents in the United States.
"This expanded benefit primarily affects new fathers and people in same-sex relationships outside the U.S.," Lori Matloff Goler, Facebook's head of human resources, had written in a Facebook post announcing the change.
5. Getting paid to use Facebook: One of the first five things almost anyone does after waking up has to include checking their Facebook and imagine doing that all day and getting paid for it.
Granted, sometimes using Facebook as a Facebook employee doesn’t constitute the same things that one does while lazily scrolling down their newsfeed, but hey it still counts!
6. The interiors: There is something very comforting about working out of an office that looks like this.
