TS gets award for promoting energy, The Telangana Government has received the award for \'Outstanding Performance in Promotion of Renewable Energy\'.
Hyderabad: The Telangana Government has received the award for 'Outstanding Performance in Promotion of Renewable Energy'.
The award was received by Telangana Energy Minister Jagadish Reddy and Energy Secretary Aravind Kumar from Prime Minister Narendra Modi at an event held in Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on the occasion of First Renewable Energy Global Investors Meet and Expo - Re-Invest.
The award has been given in view of addition of 809 MW of renewable energy capacity in the State of Telangana during the last four years and recognition of efforts that were made to promote energy security, equity, accessibility and sustainability in the country.
Power Minister Piyush Goyal and Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitaraman were also present on the occasion.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao thanked the PM for praising the state for taking effective steps to promote Renewable Energy sources in ten districts of Telangana.
Meanwhile, political pundits feel Modi’s fresh statement is indication of growing bond between BJP-led Central government and TRS-led government in Telangana. Both of them seems to be extending olive branch to each other which might lead to alliance between BJP and TRS in future. Even Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is leaving no stone unturned to reach out to Modi. His endorsement of Modi’s flagship Swach Bharat campaign on a big scale in ten districts of Telangana from here on is a pointer to it.
