HYDERABAD: Internationally-acclaimed submarine sandwich restaurant chain, SUBWAY® hasopened its 500th restaurant in India.Located at Andheri, Mumbai, the restaurant was flagged off as an all-women operated outlet to mark the International Women’s Day coming up later this week.

Started by two women entrepreneurs, the 500th Subway restaurant is run and operated by women staffers who take delight in Subway’s healthy and flavourful offerings.

Mr Manpreet Gulri, Country Head, Subway Systems India Private Limited, said, “The 500th restaurant opening is a significant milestone for the Indian market. Over the years, we have witnessed a growing consumer focus towards healthier eating and Subway has been able to create a niche for itself through extensive market research and consumer outreach programs.”SUBWAY® restaurant chain which ventured in India in 2001 with its first restaurant in New Delhi today has a presence across 70 cities.

With product innovations and new vegetarian launches on the cards, the brand is looking forward to strong future growth opportunities in tier II and tier III cities to ensure that the momentum continues.
