Babu exhorts people not to fall for false promises. The TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu made an unusual departure and tried to play to the local sentiment by raising the slogan of Jai Telangana before concluding the speech.
Warangal: The TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu made an unusual departure and tried to play to the local sentiment by raising the slogan of Jai Telangana before concluding the speech. Exuding confidence that TDP would win majority seats in Telangana region Naidu said no one could damage the TDP, which was being supported by people, mostly dalits and backward communities, he said addressing a mammoth gathering at Hayagrivachary Compound in Hanamkonda on Wednesday.
The TDP leader called upon women and men in the district to don the role of Kakatiya rulers Rani Rudrama and Pratapa Rudra to chase away the parties and leaders who have been deceiving people with false promises, with reference to TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao. During his address the TDP chief has mainly targeted the TRS and its leader KCR and asked the public not to trust him. KCR and his family members looted Telangana, he said adding Chakali Ilamma of Warangal fought against feudal land lords, but now again the feudal land lords were eager to gain power.
KCR’s promise of 12 per cent reservation to tribals was hoax as the communities were guaranteed reservations by the Constitution. “KCR is arrogant and changing his words every day, promised to make a dalit as the CM and a Muslim as deputy CM but was not acting to substantiate the promise”.
Ninety per cent population in Telangana belonged to BC communities and they were the backbone of TDP and that was why the party had decided make BC leader as the first CM of the State. “I will not leave Telangana until I hand over power to you so that you could decide your own future,” he said. “Tell clearly to the leaders of other parties that you belong to TDP and would not vote others,” he exhorted the public. Until the TDP was formed none of the BC leaders in Telangana has become an MP; for the first time the party leader L Ramana became MP by defeating Chokka Rao. TDP was the only party that has moral right to ask for votes in the region as Telangana was developed during its rule. “I have no selfish agenda wanted only the development of the state”. “We developed the region, built schools, set up engineering colleges, laid roads and dug irrigation canals”.
TDP, if assumed power, would declare the Medaram Sammakka Saralamma jatara as ‘National Festival’, he promised. Union Tourism Minister K Chiranjeevi promised to build tourism circuit in the district but nothing was done, he alleged.Naidu reiterated his promise of supporting T martyrs’ families and providing Rs 10 lakh compensation to each family along with a job.
Later, the Telugu Desam president visited the HMTV reporter Bandi Ravinder at his residence in the town. Ravinder has been unwell for past few days.
