DS meets Kodandaram
D Srinivas Meets Kodandaram. Senior Congress leader D Srinivas called on TJAC chairman Prof Kodandaram and sought his support for upcoming elections and in the process of reconstruction of Telangana.
Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader D Srinivas called on TJAC chairman Prof Kodandaram and sought his support for upcoming elections and in the process of reconstruction of Telangana. Srinivas also met the TJAC core team including C Vittal and M Rajender Reddy at the New MLA Quarters in Adarsh Nagar on Friday. This meeting assumes importance as the Congress party is now targeting the TRS and wants to launch an offensive against the party.
Srinivas is said to have impressed upon Kodandaram on the need to rally behind Congress party for fulfilling the long-pending dream of people of the region. He pointed out that Congress President Sonia Gandhi had sacrificed party’s interests in Seemandhra region for conceding statehood status to Telangana. As such, onus now lies on the people of Telangana to rally behind her and express gratitude. Srinivas said that the Congress should be supported in upcoming elections and should also guide the party in reconstruction of the new state. In response, Kodandaram stated that he would discuss the issue at the steering committee meeting and take an appropriate decision.
