Hyderabad: In an attempt to woo Dalit Christians, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday promised that he would bring legislation to accord SC status to Dalit Christians, if voted to power. Participating in a programme conducted by 'Global Peace Initiative', an organisation run by evangelist-turned-politico KA Paul, he appealed to SCs and minority sections to vote for the TDP in the upcoming elections to root out corruption from the society. Naidu even gave a clean chit to Paul, who was earlier involved in a criminal case. Paul, who said that only the TDP chief could eradicate poverty and root out corruption, called upon people to vote for Naidu in the coming elections.
