Hyderabad: The people’s mandate in the upcoming elections would decide the future of Telangana in the next 100 years, BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi said on Tuesday. Speaking at a mammoth public meeting in Nizamabad, he said a major challenge before Telangana was to achieve sustainable development, creation of employment for youth and farmers’ welfare. He claimed that BJP was the only party to nurture Telangana and develop it in five years, if voted to power.
He said since protection of Telangana workers’ rights in the Gulf which came under the jurisdiction of the Centre, he promised to solve their problems and promote turmeric-based industries to provide remunerative prices to farmers in the district. ‘Na Mo’ blamed the Congress-led UPA for the woes of Gulf-bound workers and the farmers.
In a scathing attack, he said the Congress gave birth to Telangana, but killed the Telugu culture and spirit. To sustain the spirit of Telugu, both Telangana and the successor States should be developed equally. He praised film actor and Jana Sena party leader Pawan Kalyan, who could sustain Telugu spirit.
Modi cautioned people against voting for ‘family rule’ of Congress. Striking a note of sentiment, he said the ‘Gandhi family’ had insulted the son of soil PV Narasimha Rao by not constructing a memorial for him in Delhi. Speaking at Karimnagar, Modi warned that Telangana people would face another big crisis if the Congress voted to power. He exhorted them to dethrone the ‘Mother and Son’ and also prevent them from coming to power.
