Hyderabad: The TDP campaign is likely to see two star campaigners. Pawan Kalyan and Jr NTR are likely to hit the roads soon, canvassing for its candidates in both Telangana and Seemandhra. A day after the Jana Sena leader gave a cold shoulder to TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu at LB Stadium where he shared the dais with BJP PM candidate Narendra Modi, the actor-turned-politician resorted to damage-control exercise and invited Naidu to his house.

Jana Sena Leader Pawan Power to TDP-BJP Combine

Both the leaders discussed the political situation in the State. Naidu is said to have asked Pawan to campaign for the TDP in both Telangana and Seemandhra region and the latter gave his nod. According to TDP sources, Pawan will address nearly 40 meetings for BJP and TDP in Telangana and Seemandhra. Speaking to the newsmen, Naidu said BJP, TDP and Jana Sena would have to work in close coordination to make Modi the next Prime Minister. He reiterated that he was committed to 'Samajika Telangana’ and it would be possible only when all the three parties worked together. He expressed his confidence that the TDP-BJP-Jana Sena alliance would come to power in both the states.

Asked if Pawan would campaign for TDP, Naidu said that he had requested Pawan to campaign for BJP-TDP combine in both Telangana and Seemandhra and he said that he would take a decision soon. Pawan said that he had decided to focus his attention on building the party and support the NDA and its partners in elections and hence he had not fielded any candidates in the fray. He appreciated the decision of Chandrababu Naidu to make BC a Chief Minister in Telangana if the party was voted to power. Asked about the recent controversy between TDP and Jana Sena over the candidature of P Varaprasad for Vijayawada L S seat, Pawan said that he did not ask PVP to contest from Vijayawada as he did not want to do anything that would adversely affect the NDA chances. Hence he asked PVP not to file nomination. He said, "It is essential that the TDP-BJP combine comes to power in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. With the NDA government at the Centre, it will benefit the two States immensely if the combine comes to power in both States," he said.

Pawan called upon people not elect parties that control Prime Minister through a remote. He said while Naidu had promised to make a BC leader CM of Telangana, the TRS wants to foist family rule in the new state. He recalled how the TRS had “insulted” Dr Shravan who was finally forced to quit the party and join Congress. Shravan, he said, was a good friend of his and it was he who had brought him into the PRP in the past. Announcing his support to TDP, he said that though personally he has a liking for Lok Satta chief Jayaprakash Narayan, owing to the alliance dharma, he would support TDP's Malla Reddy in Malkajgiri constituency. It is learnt that Pawan invited Naidu as the BJP leadership had conveyed to Pawan that his cold shouldering of Naidu at L B Stadium meeting would send wrong signals and when in alliance certain rules need to be followed. On the other hand, Naidu was also understood to have pacified party politburo member N Harikrishna. He is said to have told him that the party would compensate him after the elections. Party circles say that he may be sent to Rajya Sabha again. Following this, Jr NTR has also decided to campaign on behalf of TDP. An official announcement is likely on Thursday.
