Hyderabad: Monday turns to be the last day for poll campaigning in residual Andhra Pradesh (Seemandhra). The entire process of campaigning will come to the closure at 4 p.m. on Monday. To this extent, instructions have been issued by Banwal Lal, the Chief Election Commissioner of Andhra Pradesh. He issued instructions to stop all sort of election campaigning before 48 hours for the scheduled elections.

He said that for all 25 Lok Sabha constituencies and 175 assembly constituencies in Seemandhra, the arrangements have been done for the Wednesday’s elections. Security has been beefed up at all polling stations. For Lok Sabha fray there are as many as 333candidates in the race, while for the assembly there are 2,243 members in the fight.

Banwar Lal added that the leaders of other constituencies should not remain in Seemandhra and should leave for their respective places by evening of Monday. No activity to lure the voters should be undertaken before 48 hours of the scheduled polling, said Banwar Lal. He has given necessary instructions for the closure of wine shops as well.

Banawar Lal at a previous instance said that by money, gold, silver and liquor has been seized in huge quantities. He ordered the concerned authorities to intensify their checking as there was a possibility that more methods of transportation of money, liquor and gold will be opted in view of the Wednesday elections.
