GMC Commissioner visits Palakaluru tank

Vignan offers help to develop the tank Guntur: Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) Commissioner Puli Srinivasulu went to Palakaluru village which was merged with the municipal corporation recently to inspect a lake. He was accompanied by GMC executive engineer R Nagesh Babu, assistant engineers and others during his visit. It may be recalled that Vignan Educational Institutions submitted a letter to the Guntur District Collector and GMC Commissioner wishing to develop Palakaluru lake. During the interaction with the local people, they poured out their woes to the Commissioner stating that drinking water was not being supplied to Ratnagiri Colony, Swarnaandhra Colony, Janmabhumi Colony, Palakaluru SC Colony, Turakapalem SC Colony as the lake had dried up. The local people suggested to the officials that water can be pumped into Palakaluru lake from Sagar canal which is situated 100 metres away from the lake. The Commissioner assured to develop the lake by not only pumping water into it but also planting saplings on the bund.
