Mangalagiri Panakala Swamy Kalyanam held

Mangalagiri (Guntur): A large number of devotees from different parts of Guntur and neighbouring districts witnessed Kalyana Mahotsavam of Sri Lakshmi Nrusimha Swamy (opularly known as Panakala Swamy) at Mangalagiri in Guntur district on Wednesday. The Kalyanam of `Sri Devi- Bhu Devi Sameta Swamy' is a popular celestial wedding performed for the wellbeing of the world population. The devotees of the Lord believe that Mukkoti Devatalu will bless them for watching the wedding. Veda pundits explain that devotees will attend the event and get them exposed to the raining `talambralu' as part of the wedding celebrations to get rid of all sins. The devotees are of the view that taking part in the event will give great pleasure. The Kalyanam is a feast to the eyes, they feel. In the evening, the devotees competed to pull the chariot during the Radhotsavam.
