avs2Guntur: Cine artiste Amanchi Venkata Subrahmanyam, popularly known as AVS, while condemning the attacks on Zee Telugu and Maa TV channels for 'encouraging' telecast of dubbing serials, sought to advise the government to impose some restrictions on such serials on the lines of Karnataka Government.

Observing that hundreds of artistes and technicians who depend on the industry were thrown out of jobs due to telecast of dubbing serials, he said the same was the case of the artistes in film industry.

The Telugu film producers were making enough money by dubbing films from other languages and in the process rendering hundreds of artistes jobless. The film industry and the electronic media needed some protection from the government on the lines on Karnataka, he said.

The popular comedian was participating in the 'Navve Janaah Sukhinobhavantu' programme held in Vijayawada Club at Tadepalli Sundaraiah Katta near here on Sunday. A The programme was organised by the local Rotary Club.

Speaking on the occasion, AVS said that comedy programmes not only provide entertainment but also increase longevity of people. A He held the Censor Board responsible for growing obscenity in films. A He said that the Board members across the country should strictly adhere to the norms stipulated by the government while clearing the movies for exhibition.
